My work is inspired by both the human-made world and the natural world; the ingenuity of our manufacturing past, the beauty in our materials, machines, and products, but also the curse of progress that keeps us working and crowded and leaves many people and places forgotten. Nature in my work is the refuge from progress, from stress, from addiction, it’s the view from the factory window.
Moving to Southern California in 2016 woke up a part of me, the draw of the industrial life faded and the sun-washed scenery changed my color choices.
I enjoy working with three-dimensional materials and incorporating trade craftsmanship and commercial techniques into my process. I work in stark simple forms with a handmade aesthetic.
